Each coaster is burned, brushed, treated and then hand stamped with my Japanese hanko and numbered by batch with the Japanese kanji. The coasters have slight grooves from the burning process, but cups, mugs, and cans lay flat on the surface, and it prevents the coaster from coming up with the glass when you pick it up.
